All the flak this gun has recieved on multiple sites really ticks me off. I've just finished a mod that makes it get better range than my modified BBB. The first thing I did, was figure out that those friggin' clips don't stay in worth crap on my Sawtooth, so I opened up the gun and ditched all the clip advancing mechanics. That being done, I was down to your basic cocking rifle-style nerf gun. The springs in these guns are really pathetic, so I took mine out and installed a new one (about the size of a Ratchetblast's). After that, I took enough schedule 40, 1/2" PVC to come out to the end of the "barrel" that they put on the Sawtooth. I put some 3/4" pipe insulation between the original and PVC barrel to keep it centered. I don't know if this affects performance, but I also snipped off the peg at the end of the plunger, and took off the secondary plunger disk. (If you own one of these, you know what I'm talking about). After that, I had to put some 3/8" CPVC that I ground down on my bench grinder inside the back end of the 1/2" barrel and put hotglue around that ring and matched it up to the clip seal ring. This obviously won't put up to much stress, so I broke my new glue job and put superglue around the inside of the perfect mold I had achieved with the hotglue, and I had a great, strong seal. I call this: "Jess".
