I did it really simply. Just saw off the barrel, sand it down so that a 1/2 in. PVC barrel will fit over it without being lopsided, and then after sanding some CPVC stick it in the PVC and glue. Stick the gun back together and then put hot glue over the front of the gun around the barrel for support.
